SYNOPSIS:
For today's poker players, Texas hold'em is the game. Every day, tens of thousands of small stakes hold'em games are played all over the world in homes, card rooms, and on the Internet. These games can be very profitable, if you play well. But most people don't play well and end up leaving their money on the table. Small Stakes Hold'em: Winning Big with Expert Play explains everything you need to be a big winner. Unlike many other books about small stakes games, it teaches the aggressive and attacking style used by all professional players. However, it does not simply tell you to play aggressively; it shows you exactly how to make expert decisions through numerous clear and detailed examples. Small Stakes Hold'em teaches you to think like a professional player. Topics include implied odds, pot equity, speculative hands, position, the importance of being suited, hand categories, counting outs, evaluating the flop, large pots versus small pots, protecting your hand, betting for value on the river, and playing overcards. In addition, after you learn the winning concepts, test your skills with over fifty hand quizzes that present you with common and critical hold'em decisions. Choose your action, then compare it to the authors' play and reasoning. This text presents cutting-edge ideas in straightforward language. It is the most thorough and accurate discussion of small stakes hold'em available. Your opponents will read this book; make sure you do, too! 369 PAGES
"I can say with full confidence that if it were not for Two Plus Two Publishing and their web site, I would not have the 2004 World Championship bracelet on my wrist." Greg ?Fossilman? Raymer, 2004 World Series of Poker Champion
Here is a little more infomation from Ed Miller: I was wondering who the target audience of your new book is... The target audience is intermediate to advanced players who have read at least one or two other poker books and who have at least 100 hours of experience behind them. While it will almost certainly benefit almost anyone who falls into this category, it is specifically geared to help people move beyond a "weak-tight" style. ...what type of games does it focus on mainly (on the loose-tight and passive-agressive scale)? It focuses on loose games, mostly passive to somewhat aggressive. By somewhat aggressive, I mean "sanely" aggressive... not "cap it on every street" aggressive. Also what limit games would you say your book on Small stakes is best geared towards? It is not limit-specific. It would be good for basically any loose limit hold 'em game. I was playing in such a game this past weekend in the $40-$80 at Commerce. Certainly it is appropriate for almost all small stakes games (up to maybe $6-$12), and it is also appropriate for many games higher than that as well.
